News Release #16 (2008/10/07)

QSO correction Status: By 30, September, the QSO correction request was closed. Please do NOT send us QSO correction request. The team is examing requests and decide if they could be accepted. The final result will be updated to the database by November and the award/Plaque will be issued by the end of this year.

QSL Card Start to send out: On 29 September, 2008, The QSL manager BA4EG sent out the 1st QSL card. Now the card is under processing and will continue to send out. Please go to "QSL Info" page to search for your QSL status.

News Release #14 (2008/09/12)

Farewell Net: After 123 days operation, it's time to say goodbye. Till 7, September, 2008, we have made over 100,000 valid QSOs by BT1OB, BT1OJ, BT1OH, BT1OY, BT1ON. The purpose of the Farewell net is not chasing BT1O stations, but the organizer take chance to thanks for all OPs, and OPs thanks for amateur radio operators all over the world to support Beijing 2008 Olympic Games special event stations. Thank you all to make such great success.

The operation will end at 1600 UTC, 17, September 2008. The Farewell net start about 1520 UTC, 17, September, 2008 and followed the agenda below:
1520 - 1530 UTC: BT1O stations start to say goodbye on their working frequencies.
1530 - 1600 UTC: QSY to 14270KHZ +-QRM, one special event station OP will control the net to work till 1600 UTC, the end of operation period.

You are welcome to join the net but depending on propogation condition and traffic, the net controller will select some stations to join the net, hope to meet you on Farewell net. Thanks again.

News Release #13 (2008/09/10)

160 meter operation announcement: We have scheduled a top band operation this weekend, proposed operation period: September 12, UTC 1500, september 13, UTC 1000-1200, and September 13, UTC 1600. QRG is 1824KHZ +-QRM. The schedule is subject to change or cancel due to thunder or bad weather. The 160 meter tramsmit antenna located on a mountain top, and recently Beijing had too many thunders.

News Release #12 (2008/09/07)

QSO correction Request: From 18, September to 30, September, we will run a QSO correction section. Those who believe they had a QSO with BT1OB, BT1OJ, BT1OH, BT1OY, BT1ON but could not found his/her callsign in the right slot can click the button below, and send the request to bj2008ses@hotmail.com with subject: "Callsign: QSO Correction Request", the board will base on the record to make judgement. Please be noticed that the request will only accept from 0000 UTC, 18, September to 2400 UTC, 30, September. All award, plaque and QSL return will base on the corrected database.

We recently received queries from world wide asking for QRG about Special Event Stations. Actually all 5 stations will decide their own QRG by themselves, and could be any valid amateur radio QRG in China. Based on statistics that the stations operated in last 2 months, below are the possible QRGs:

News Release #8 (2008/06/24)

Announcement: Recently we received a lot of emails on log search query. We advise you if you found your callsign was not in online log after 2 weeks since the QSO made but you believe you are sure QSOed with the special callsigns, please try to make QSO again later, we will keep working to 17 September, you still have chance to work the station. The 5 stations located in different areas, we will try to keep the log complete and correct, after the operation ending on 17, September, we will accept emails for log correction, thanks. We also got emails said that the log file was corrupted, computer crashed, or paper log missed, and ask us to provide the detailed information of the contacts. Please also refer to the suggestion above, and we will not response to such kind of request until 17, September, sorry for the inconvenience may cause.

The Log search system was online today. The log update is on weekly basis. QSOs made by last week will be upload to database on Tuesday.

News Release #3 (2008/05/19)

May 19, 2008. China on Monday began a three-day national mourning for the tens of thousands of people killed in the May 12 earthquake. 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Special Event Amateur Radio Station will QRT for 3 days, and will resume from 22 May, 2008.

News Release #2 (2008/05/18)

Today the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Special Event Amateur Radio Station started the first call with Sichuan earthquake area amateur radio operators, BY8AA (QSPed by BA8AB) and Chinese Red Cross Foundation front station BT8RC. The first day operation has made 1800+ QSOs in the log.

News Release #1 (2008/05/13)

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Game Special Event Amateur Radio Station setup application was approved by The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and State Radio Regulatory Committee (SRRC). The first station on air was planned to 18, May, 2008.
